At Sahil Sharma Foundation, we have encountered numerous challenges, but our commitment and desire to bring change help us overcome all hurdles in front of us. Let me share one of our experiences with you.
When we started our foundation, we meticulously tasted numerous foods to ensure we could provide quality meals. Quality is more important to us than quantity, even though it is expensive. We finalized a restaurant to prepare food for us twice a month, bearing all expenses for premium quality and taste.
However, on the main day, after distributing all the containers, we kept one container to taste the food. It was neither bad nor great, which ruined our vibe. We restarted our search and found a great chef specializing in catering with around 10-12 years of experience in bulk food preparation. The chef understands our initiative, and his team supports us by always providing more containers than what we pay for. I really appreciate his contribution to our mission. These little things boost our morale to do more good deeds.
Running Sahil Sharma Foundation has shown us that our problems are nothing compared to the people around us. Everyone is fighting their own battles, but the poverty, helplessness, and fight for three meals a day are beyond our imaginations. I am glad that I am able to contribute to society, and I am really happy to bring smiles to their faces. I know it’s a one-time joy for them, but I am happy that I am the center of their joy, even for a few seconds, and that they know they will get at least one meal.
We also started a drive to give cold drinks to delivery personnel, security guards, and others who come to our doorsteps during the scorching Indian summer. Their smiles of joy brighten our day. So, I urge all of you out there to do something nice and bring peace and joy to our surroundings.
